A Rather Testing Day...
Tuesday… ah, Tuesday. This morning my sleep was disturbed at 8am by the workers outside my window. I slept on and off and very horribly for the next 2 hours when my alarm went off. Daniel was already in the shower so I rested my eyes and listened to the loud mechanical noise trying not to think about anything at all and just relax. Around 10:30am Daniel got out of the shower and I got in. I took a slightly long shower, just soaking up the hot water and hoping the bad feelings inside my stomach would go away. On the plus side of things, my sinuses are working properly nowadays, I still have one days worth of medicine left to take, and nothing green is to be seen. After my shower I felt no better, but I went downstairs to take my test in Paolo’s class. There were 20 slide ID’s, 2 essay, 5 fill in the blank, and about 20 multiple choice. I think I did pretty well, although I can’t be entirely sure. I was the second one finished with the test and came back to my room and got back in bed hoping to sleep away all the bad and not think anymore for the time being. At 2:30pm I got up and got dressed and went to stone carving. I rather enjoy stone carving. There’s nothing like banging on rocks to soothe yourself and get it all out. After stone carving I came back to the center and wondered around aimlessly with nothing to do. I wondered in and out of the other schools studio’s talking to a few people here and there and enjoying their work. After a while I went upstairs and collected my movies from some people who had borrowed them before knocking on Jen’s door. I don’t know why I went to see Jen really; I guess I just felt like talking to her. So we hung out for about an hour and a half till dinner just talking and me keeping her company while she washed clothes. Apparently I showed up at just the right time. Jen gives really good hugs, and after the day I’d been having I needed one, so that was nice. Dinner was good; I sat with my usual crowd which includes Daniel, The Trio, and Jon usually. (Just incase I haven’t mentioned The Trio before it consists of Elisha, Jacquie, and Katherine who are practically inseparable.) We enjoyed ourselves and again Katherine and I shared some wine, this time we actually decided to get 2 bottles, she’d had a long day too, and in the end I had about 4 ½ glasses. Not much really, I didn’t even feel tipsy. After dinner Katherine, Daniel, Jon and I chatted while we all sipped on wine and had a nice time. Afterwards, I came to my room and decided I’m going to watch Under The Tuscan Sun tonight so I can finally understand what’s going on. About 5 minutes into the movie gets pretty depressing so I decided to hold off for a while and see if Jen wants to watch it with me after she finished Conversation - something that happens Tuesday nights with some local Italians. I plan to finish it whether she wants to or not and then probably call it an early night since tomorrow is field trip day. That’s all for now hopefully tomorrow in Florence will be a good day. We’re going to two famous museums and I’m going to get to see The David among many other famous pieces of art. Ciao!
